I hope everyone came through the flooding all right.
We were pretty well isolated with roads and bridges closed all around us, but we didn’t sustain any damage. We also went without a paper and lost our TV and Internet connection for a day and night.
Boy was that a boring day.

Personally, my family had no problems. My driveway is now at my neighbors house but that's nothing I can't fix with the skidsteer.
It was a long couple of days for me and my people from the Fire Co. We started out about noon Wednesday and finally returned our station to "normal operations" Thursday night at about 8 pm.
We had our boat teams in three counties over two days. We were in NE Lycoming at Tivoli and Glen Mawr first and then into Sullivan County to help in Muncy Valley. Then we ended up north on 87 along the Loyalsock Creek, and then to Allenwood, back to Loyalsock, then to Old Lycoming, in Montoursville and eventually back home.
I've had our boats in places I never thought we'd go. I can now say that I boated on Route 220 from Tivolu to Glen Mawr. I thought we were going to die back in '96, up Lycoming Creek. That was nothing compared to the Loyalsock Creek Wednesday night and Muncy Creek earlier that day. The power of the water was incredible.
And then, we have the candidates for the Darwin awards. Most every person we went after in the boats was someone who was warned earlier to get out and they chose to stay. Then, when the water came up really fast and really high, they decided they didn't want to stay anymore and called for help. Most of the rescues made Thursday were completely avoidable. I can't count how many times we pulled people from cars who had driven through high waters.
We really dodged a bullet in the Muncy/Montgomery area. Wednesday, they were predicting a crest of 32.6 feet at 4 pm. The river actually crested at 26.7 feet at 1:30pm Thursday.
As of tonight, I've not heard of any deaths related to the flood. Hopefully, that remains a constant.
My company is going to be in Muncy Borough on Saturday morning to help pump basements.
