Well Chief, it sounds like you’re going to get a gas-fired power plant in your area. Isn’t that a good thing?

Yes it is. I sat at the township meeting when they presented their plan. It is a for profit company. They aren't asking for tax breaks either. They are projecting between 1000 and 1200 workers to build the place and between 30 and 60 to operate it when it's done.
Best thing is that it will generate in excess of 4 million dollars in tax revenue to the Montgomery School District which should in turn, lower my real estate taxes. Woo hoo!
And of course, it will also generate a substantial amount of tax revenue to the Fire Company which will lighten our burden of fund-raising.
We have some other projects coming to the Township as well. Some good, and some maybe not so good but they are coming none the less.

I saw the headlines in the Daily Item, but all it said was Lycoming County. Where are they building it?

The plant is going on Robert Moore's farm. The entrance to the plant will be straight across Brick Church Road. It is the field next to the Kidron (Grumman's Plant)
Imagine that, Keith. An American company that isn't asking for a handout. Must be run by a Conservative!

Is this venture the result of the new natural gas supplies?

That question, I cannot honestly answer, Keith. I know there is an existing pipeline nearby but that is not connected with the Marcellus.
