The Daily Item, Sunbury, PA July 11, 2011 Inexpensive, but costly
— Roughly 28.5 percent of people in Pennsylvania are obese.
Did anyone stop to wonder why? Try going grocery shopping on a tight budget. It's cheaper to buy a TV dinner or anything quick that is not healthy than it is to buy healthy food.
Why spend $20 to buy a roast for one meal when you can spend $20 and get 20 microwavable meals.
Ever wonder why your health care is so expensive? Just go shopping, and you will find one reason.

I don't know about this guy, but I can make 2 or three meals for 4 out of a $20 roast. If he's cooking for himself and sitting down and eating a $20 roast I can see why he'd be obese. I do most of the grocery shopping and cooking in our house and I do most grocery shopping at Aldi's and Surplus Outlet. We don't have a lot of precooked stuff at our house, most everything is cooked from scratch. We eat a lot of fresh steamed veggies. Shopping at the discount stores and looking for sale items at Giant or one of the local grocery stores really stretches the food budget. I certainly haven't found pre-made microwave dinners to be a cheap alternative to making you're own fresh made meals.

Packaged, prepared foods are always more expensive. Heck, sometimes the packaging obviously costs more than the food it contains.
My guess is the guy is a tad lazy.
