Denny won't be happy. weather alert calling for 6-8 inches of snow in the northern tier at the end of this storm today.
Here's to hoping the storm moves South!

Wow! Roads suck out there! One dead already today at the beginning of the storm. Our 47000lb Rescue Truck slid sideways when it stopped. 4 inches of snow on the ground and ice under it. The truck stopped, brakes were set and it slid! Yeehaw. Our Township is on the radio talking about "saving" money by not plowing. I don't know about elsewhere but the roads over here are in really poor shape.

Left NY at 11:00 am. yesterday got back in Hooterville at 2:30. It's only 90 miles. Neighbor up North called and said 18 inches on his table this morning. It was a 30-35 mph white knuckle ride down 15 yesterday. And thats with AWD Explorer.

Keep watching for those frogs, Denny.
For once the road got plowed before I cleared my driveway. We had maybe 6” here, with a little ice under it.

Here we go. Flood Warning in effect for ALL of Lycoming County. Already moved some folks out of their homes today. Black Hole Creek went over its banks about 2 pm today in the Township.

Very heavy, steady rain to our west--upstream. Centre county right now. Training with a long fetch. This will move east but this storm looks almost stalled right now.
Keuka Lake at Hammondsport holding steady around 714 feet, just so you know.

Latest global forecasts suggest "good chance for significant winter weather through early April" from Plains to Northeast U.S.(generally north of I-80). Article headline was "Don't put away those snow shovels yet."

The bulbs are up, the crocus are blooming, the trees are full of buds, the geese are headed north; now if Todd would only spot a frog or two out by his ponds we’d know spring is here for sure.

No frogs yet, Phil. But, the fish are coming to life.
I like snow but, that warm sun sure feels good today.

Joe Bastardi tweets: Look out, arctic attack is on the way back.. Ideas for late March into April plains to northeast will have merit!!! And next weeks snow/ice event in I-80 corridor from plains east wont be the last one. Like, 1950,1956, TRUE spring in lakes, late But south of Ohio river, Mason Dixon line, I-40 in plains, winter did end early. Further north, 2-3 weeks of ugly on the way

1 to 3 inches North of I-80 for wednesday. Just a nuisance snow if you ask me.
No frogs in the ponds yet, Phil. ;D

Now that's what I call a snow storm, Denny. This 2-3 inches we have here is just a pain in the ass.
On the plus side, I came downstairs this morning to a table full of place settings and the girls making pancakes, sausage, and hash browns for breakfast to surprise Mom when she gets home!
Life is good.

A good four inches here. Nice and heavy and wet. Maybe more tonight and maybe this weekend, too. Probably not going to get a good crippler so it can be spring now.

It’s a good thing those frogs didn’t venture out yet.
I just came in from a long walk and I saw a bunch of cold and hungry looking Robins.

My place is loaded with Robins. We saw a Cardinal at the fire station today. No frogs yet. I've got a lot of stuff to get done outside. I'm ready for Spring to finally show up.
My wife and kids talked me into a new puppy. Yesterday, "Medley" showed up. The kids wanted a musical name and that's what they came up with. I don't have much say in the matter. Four against one isn't even close to fair. Poor puppy starts to shiver from the cold when she's outside. Oh, she's a Blue Merle, Great Dane. I think I need my head examined.
