Enjoy yourself and good luck with the procedure.

I learned a few things Tuesday. One is that seemingly routine medical procedures can have hidden complications. Another is that one way to get quick service at the emergency room is to pass out and void one's blood-filled bowels all over a beautiful, brand-new facility. All fixed now, hopefully. Details later.

CNN hosts gasps in horror when student unsure about voting for Obama. What liberal bias?

He last logged in yesterday at about 530, so he's still around. Maybe he's just enjoying my sparring with CHayes. ;D

I’m still here. Just busy getting settled into my new place and switching from my old desk top to my new laptop; needed the space, so the desktop had to go. After using a desk top with mouse etc. since the very beginning, the laptop is taking some getting used to. Us old guys get set in our ways, but I‘m beginning to really like the laptop.
I really haven’t seen much in the LTEs worth spending time on, but I check them out every day. The rest of you can argue with Hayes and company; you do a good job.

I have two netbooks that I can use when I go away. 1) They are way to slow for me after using my desktop, and 2) I just can't get used to the mouse pad or whatever you call that thing. I'll be typing along and accidentally hit it and my cursor will move to wherever. I got a wireless mouse to use with them and turned off the pad.

I forced myself to use the little mouse window and being on the determined, some would say stubborn, side, I’m getting to the point where it’s pretty intuitive and I really like it. I figured if it was going to be portable it didn’t make sense to have a lot of stuff plugged into it.
Mine’s a mid range Toshiba and since it’s the only one I’ve ever used, I can’t compare it with other laptops, but it’s at least as fast as my desktop was and that was a pretty fast machine. Being on wifi might help too.

Has anyone heard the commercial on the radio about not moving firewood? They are trying to control some insect pest and they have different voices saying "I promise not to move firewood." Make sure to burn it where you buy it, they say.
Say what! I don't think they understand how firewood works.

Black Friday got off to a rowdy start at a San Antonio mall where police say one shopper pulled a gun on another who punched him in the face while they were waiting in line at a Sears store.
Police Sgt. Rob Carey tells the San Antonio Express-News a man rushed into the store when it opened Thursday night to get to the front of a line, started arguing with people and tried cutting in front of them.
One man who got punched pulled a gun and that scattered shoppers, including the impatient line-cutter who took cover behind a refrigerator. Then he fled.
Carey says the man with the gun had a permit to carry the weapon and isn't being charged with a crime.

Black Friday; because only in America do people trample, fight and kill one another to save a buck exactly one day after being thankful for what they already have.

To all members: If you had an icon or personal text in the mini profile (left side) section of your posts, they might have been removed somehow. Please modify your profile to try to get these back if you had them. It looks bare over there. Also, you can now use the same formatting codes in your personal text as you use in posts (bold, color, etc.). I was messing around with that code trying to get a better look. Hey Gavin what code did you use to make that table and color in the mini profile area of your site? I can't seem to add twitter or facebook icons there either. Update: Gavin, now that I think about it, I think you gave me that code before. I have a conflict somewhere because the Twitter ID shows up as code in the personal text area. I think Mike's profile on your site (see screenshot) is an example of what happens. Maybe it's my browser.

So Sideliner and his family all hate Walmart's business model but they shop there because their prices are more affordable to them.
Isn't it that hated business model that is able to keep these prices down?
I must be losing my mind. How can there be so much stupidity in this nation?

I was shaking my head the whole time I was reading those posts. It's scary WHY people think what they do about some subjects.
I'm convinced that most people lack critical thinking skills.
